I started my language teaching journey with a summer camp in Poland. I loved it so much that when I graduated from University in 2004, I adventured to South Korea. After a year of teaching adorable children (and eating my body weight in Kimchi and Galbi), my husband and I travelled extensively around South America before returning to sunny Glasgow. The plan was to save enough pennies to continue our adventures… but there was just something about Glasgow that has kept us here.
Since 2007 I have been an ESOL Lecturer at City of Glasgow college. In that time I’ve embraced many opportunities. These include co-ordinating the ESOL Network Project, being seconded as Development Officer for ESOL at Education Scotland and managing the Sharing Lives Sharing Languages Project for the Scottish Refugee Council.
I am also a freelance Materials Writer. I wrote the A-Z of ESOL for Academic Study Kit which is coming out soon. I have also written digital ELT materials for publishers such as MacMillan Education and the British Council as well as a wide range of ESOL for Vocational Purposes Courses for City of Glasgow College. These include: ESOL for Social Care, ESOL for Customer Care, ESOL for Employability, ESOL for Science, ESOL for Early Years and ESOL for Construction.
